Sauvés du vent… À propos de Richard Brautigan
Fin octobre 1984, Richard Brautigan (La pêche à la truite en Amérique) pose le point final sur la page de son existence à l’encre Smith et Wesson. Pas vraiment surprenant pour un auteur qui n’aura cessé de détourner la fin de ses poèmes, de ses romans, de ses interviews, de ses amitiés, et ultimement de sa vie… Sauvés du vent n’est pas un musée, ni un acte de décès, encore moins un tombeau ! Ce serait plutôt un documentaire poétique (à plusieurs voix) transatlantique anti nostalgique, libre et insurrectionnel, passant à travers l’univers d’un auteur où chaque mot devient une déclaration d’amitié et d’amour lancée dans l’espace de l’Homme. C’est un aussi voyage durant lequel s’entrecroisent des créations musicales et des textes poétiques écrits par des écrivains de diverses origines, qui emportent l’auditeur dans les univers concrets ou fantasmagoriques propres à Brautigan. Ou comment évoquer un auteur au fil de rencontres, quand on fait le choix de ne pas citer d’extraits de son œuvre. Le résultat évoque plus qu’il ne cite Brautigan, ses écrits, et ses univers allant de la prose à la poésie. Sauvés du vent s’avère une occasion de redécouvrir cet écrivain finalement mal connu, parfois même mal aimé…
